A new SCIMAX SHOW on “DOLPHINS” at Regional Science City, Lucknow was inaugurated on 3rd July, 2010 at 01:00 PM by Shri D.N.S. Suman, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh in presence of Dr. N.C.Mehrotra, Director BSIP, Dr. M.V. Nair, Director, NRLC, Shri S.K.D. Singh, Founder Manager of S.K.D. Academy, Lucknow and different members of Local Advisory Committee of Regional Science City and distinguished dignitaries, students and teachers.



In his inaugural address Shri D.N.S. Suman told that Dolphin is the indicator of aquatic health and also informed that the Government has declared Gangetic dolphin as National Aquatic animal and hoped that after watching the Film “Dolphins” people would be motivated to protect the biodiversity and the dolphins in particular.



In his presidential address Dr. N.C. Mehrotra told that Regional Science City is the great place of Lucknow for educational tour and appreciated these type of efforts for science promotion and advised the audience specially young children to learn science with enjoyment and communicate to all.

The Project Coordinator of Regional Science City Shri Samarendra Kumar informed that the film on “DOLPHINS” take the audience from the dazzling coral reefs of the Bahamas to the wind – swept seas of the Patagonia, under the water’s surface for a romp with inquisitive Atlantic spotted dolphins, acrobatic dusky dolphins and the familiar bottlenose dolphin of flipper fame. While few of us will ever have the chance to encounter a dolphin in the wild, audiences feel like they are swimming right alongside these playful creatures when they view “DOLPHINS” which also will give the audiences a fascinating new perspective on the lives of dolphins and their remarkable intelligence.

“DOLPHINS” is the fifth large format film to be screened in the Large Format Film Theatre at RSCL. The SCIMAX Theater of Regional Science City is first of its kind in the state of Uttar Pradesh and only a few of its kind in the country. The movie is a MacGillivray Freeman Films presentation is about 40 minutes large format documentary of importance of Dolphins and their intelligence.
